Acupuncture – 1st Session w/ consultation $100

  • The Benefits of Oriental Medicine

Acupuncture has been a popular treatment for pain relief in the United States for some time now. Patients in increasing numbers are discovering the benefits of Oriental Medicine as their primary health care therapy. The effects of acupuncture and herbal therapy are gentle and free of side effects when prescribed by a trained practitioner. They are very effective for a host of internal as well as muscular-skeletal problems.

What most people commonly refer to as acupuncture is really the profession of Oriental Medicine. Acupuncture is just one form of therapy used within the coherent system of healing known as Oriental Medicine. Oriental Medicine includes herbology, muscle therapy and dietetics, and is a complete medical system unto itself and is not another branch of modern Western medicine.

In addition to treating your primary health complaints, the benefits of Oriental Medicine include pain relief, immune enhancement and increased energy and well being. This is because Oriental Medicine treats the whole person, not just individual symptoms.

As in any form of healing, the patient's attitude, diet, determination and lifestyle will affect the outcome of a course of treatment. Patients are encouraged to actively participate in their healing process.

  • What to expect at an Acupuncturist's office

Acupuncture consists of the gentle insertion and stimulation of thin, disposable, sterile needles at strategic points near the surface of the body. The needles are much finer than the familiar hypodermic needle. When needles are inserted there can be a heavy, achy or tingly sensation near or along the pathway of the needled site. In Oriental Medicine, this is known as the 'arrival of the Qi (or Ki in Korean)' and is an indication that the body's healing powers have been stimulated. Acupuncture has been proven to stimulate the release of opiate-like hormones and normally induces a deep state of relaxation, balance and healing.

Many conditions may be alleviated rapidly by acupuncture and herbal medicine. However, some chronic conditions that have arisen over a long period of time, can be relieved only with slow steady progress in the art of natural healing. The treatment times and frequency will vary from individual to individual.

  • Commonly Treated Disorders
